Winter Time Trial Training Series

Email Gary to get your starting time for the next event!

The purpose of this time trial series is to provide an opportunity for local cyclists and triathletes to practice their pacing strategies and starting technique. We will be timing riders and recording their times on this website. If you do not want your times posted on the web, please indicate this to the guy with the watch, but we'll keep time for you anyways and let you know afterwards. This is not a competition and there are no prizes, only personal bests and the goals you set for yourself.

The course is open to traffic and all riders should yield when appropriate to cars. This is particularly true at the turn around point. You must look back before making your turn or you run the real risk of being hit. Ride on the right of the road. There will not be any traffic marshals. Generally speaking, you're on your own. Literally, we are just a couple of guys with a stop watch out on the side of the road to time you. We are not responsible for anything stupid you may do or that someone may do to you.

Dates are:

Dates:
October 22nd 2006
November 19th 2006
December 17th 2006
January 21st 2007

The start location will be at the top of the hill on Big Woods. This is near the Jordan Hill intersection (map). The course travels south on Big Woods to near the intersection at 64. There will be a marker placed at the turn-around. The course is 18k total (~11 miles) and is not flat. There are hills, but they are not very steep. The finish will be approximately the same place as the start.

Parking is located at the school on Lystra, just past the intersection with Jack Bennett.

The cost of the event is FREE!

This is an invitational event only. You must email Gary or Howie for start times. Please email them at least 12 hour before the event. If you do not email them we cannot guarantee you a start time. First rider goes off at 10am.
